Bay Area BYCers!

Does any one know of farms or breeders near the San Francisco Bay Area that sells pullets about 10 weeks old? I would like to add a few more girls to my flock. I ended up with too many roosters and not enough hens. I am looking for Ameraucanas, Wellsummers, Olive Eggers. I am also looking to re-home the roosters. Maybe someone near me would like to do a trade? I have one each - Olive egger, Lav. Orpington, Blue Copper Marans, Blue Ameraucana, and a Silver Laced Wyandotte. I appreciate any help.

They are so pretty - ok the egg thing, I guess that's one more thing I need to add to the list of things I need to work on with this breed.....

but actually hmmm something to ponder - they are the ones that had white legs so is it possible then genetically that they are predisposed to the brown egg layer traits that were in the mix to create the birds...way back when.

Anna I'm sorry I know you wanted white eggs, I know you are attached to the girls by now, but of course if you want to rehome them let me know

Oh no - I wasn't complaining. I LOVE their eggs. They're a *gorgeous* creamy color. I just was surprised to have leghorns laying something other than white!

Only things I have are the chicks I just posted a link to which I think should be Olive Eggers and some other mixes of FBCMs.

Someone go look and tell me why I have 2 brown chicks.

A friend and I went to a presentation at the Seed Bank (sponsor of the Heirloom Expo) on Wednesday where Patricia Foreman, author of "City Chicks," told us of the importance of land, topsoil and chickens. She is a wonderful, wonderful person and speaker, and I even asked the Seed Bank to include her as one of the presenters for the 2012 Heirloom Expo in Santa Rosa. She even brought along a BO as part of her introductory ideas.

Here is where you can see and hear her promote about chickens this weekend before she leaves for Southern CA; I highly recommend going to her presentation and be energized!!
