Bay Area BYCers!

Sorry guys, I jumped the gun a little bit posting the list of breeds that I did previously. I only had a list of birds Mr. Urch put out last year... I didn't know that there was an updated breed list and was waiting to hear back from him.

Anyways, here is the most updated list of bird Duane Urch sells.

The image is a bit small... I will try to type it out later. Again sorry for any confusion.

The chicks are $7 each.

Thanks for the help with clarification Ron.

I knew it was too good to be true--that the Urch's would have Silver Dorkings

.

Those are very hard to find this year. I guess Kim Consul from Capay Valley will have to work on hers and get them to show quality.

How cool looking, Cheryl!!! Are you getting these to breed or just to hatch? I have my Omelet Ranch gift certificate sitting here on my desk. Monet is always talking about what 3 chicks we are going to get from you! :) It looks like we are going to have a hard time making up our minds. We may have to get another couple chicks to round out the bunch.

There is someone from Novato selling on Craigs list Greenfire Farm lemon cuckoo orpington chicks and Swedish flower hen chicks hatched from eggs purchased from Thistle Down Farm. Is that a BYCer? They are due to hatch on 1/28 and the seller is asking $15/chick. Is that about the going rate for these breeds? I am getting chick fever and wasn't real happy with the health of the shipped chicks that we purchased last year. I'm thinking that picking up chicks is a better option for us this year.

I believe Greenfire is selling them at $19 per chick, so it sounds like you'd be getting a pretty good deal. I've got 6 little Swedes growing out right now, they're almost a month old. Each chick is so unique and different. I REALLY like them!

I wouldn't buy any of the Lemon Cuckoo Orpingtons though. The quality of the LCs in the US right now is very poor.

These are just for fun, I'm also hatching buff laced brahmas at the same time, if you want to reserve something let me know. I'm not planning

on hatching others eggs after this, just my own breeding flocks, fyi

And of course you are welcome to any that I currently have hatched... columbian plymouth rocks, black orpingtons, silver penciled plymouth rocks just to name a few!
