Bay Area Meet Up/Chicken Swap - Sunday October 10th!

I'll take some pics today of the mille fluer leghorns, OMG the rooster is gorgeous! I hope he has permanent laryngitis so I can keep and breed the pair!

I would love for folks to bring birds with them! Either just to show off, if that's your thing, or if you have a bird you've been wanting to rehome you can bring it to the meet in hopes of finding it a new home! After I get the okay from the park saying we can bring birds, I'd like folks to maybe start giving ideas as to what birds they do plan on bringing to swap, ya know?

Cheryl:

I hope you get to breed them. It's too hard to reach the breeders in Ohio. I've tried over the last two weeks, calling, emailing pm, no reply at all. Better to buy local anyway!

I hope they allow live chickens at the park.

I actually have some pullets I'm looking to re-home. They are 13 1/2 weeks old

Very nice birds from Meyer hatchery-all vaccinated for mareks and fed start and grow

2 buff orpingtons - I went orp crazy and already had 3 so these little ones have to go
1 Australorp - I ordered two but only want to keep one
2 speckled sussex - they are sweet

If you're ever wanting to give away any birds, particularly females, I'm doing sustainability work in a lot of neighborhoods, including low income neighborhoods, by providing fruit trees, vegetable seeds, coop building materials, chickens and seeds to grow feed. Also, some in not-so-low income but still wanting to contribute to wide scale greening. It's the East Bay area. If you want to see about it, you can look at the website at http://www.self-sustainingcommunities.org. That way you can decide if it's something you would feel good about. Thanks.
