I personally would prefer Sunday the 10th. I won't be able to attend until later in the day if we have it on Saturday the 9th.
There's no way I can get out of work before 2 PM that day.

I tried, I promise. MY boss though is going on vacation that weekend to her sisters wedding in New Orleans.
So I won't be able to have a day off until Sunday/Monday. UGH!

ETA: I'm very excited about finally having a Bay Area meet though! I so wanted to attend the Nor Cal one, it was just too far.

I would be interested in coming to the event

... we live in Sonoma County/Petaluma and just started having chickens, although my husband's family had their own chickens, pigeons, ducks for years, and we have friends who have chickens, etc. on their farm in Petaluma. Our extended family in Berkeley also plan to have some chickens that we're raising

... I can bring a cake for dessert when you have a sign up list started. There will be two of us. Thanks for planning this !

So my concierge is still working on finding a location, I'm confident that they will find somewhere for us, but they won't have a reply for me until next Tuesday.

So Cheryl, what should we do?
Wait for their response or do you want to move forward with having the meet at your place?
If anything we can always change the location next Tuesday if they find us an amazing spot?​

So let's move forward with planning the meet at Cheryl's house in Lafayette!
If AMEX pulls through and finds an amazing location then we'll discuss switching next week.

So now... where do we start planning?

I think the most important things to discuss first and get out of the way are:

1. Will it be Saturday the ninth (

) or Sunday the 10th? (

2. What time do we want the meet up to start? (& how long will it last?)

Also, have you considered parking arrangements at your house Cheryl?

Parking when we've had 200+ people here for weddings we have hired a person to shuttle from the main street down to our home at the bottom of the court. we can probably pay my almost 18 yr old son to do it

I guess we need to read the other threads about how set this up. And maybe it requires a new thread with a yes or no attending poll

Seems like us techy types can come up with something. Maybe an evite in addition so the menu can be planned??? Idk

Is there a parking lot or something at the main street? I can't remember from the last time I was out there. If anything it might make sense for folks to park their cars at BART stations, ride the train from wherever they are at and then rides could be arranged from the Lafayette BART station? We could also plan on carpooling. I am coming from Oakland and I can accommodate at least 4 people in my car.

Rob, what do you think about starting a poll to figure out will will most certainly be attending? Can we do that on this thread?
I think after we get a headcount an evite or some other kind of formal invitation sent out is a good idea.
It would further solidify those folks who are planning on attending, when they RSVP.
