Baytril dose and type?

I’m looking at buying baytril (the oral solution) for my hen that has a sinus infection. Should I buy the 10% or the 2.5? and what is the correct dosage? she’s about 10 years old and I’d say around 4-5 pounds

I personally would get the 10%, it's a much smaller amount to inject or give orally.

I would get the 10% solution, and give it orally. Dosage is 0.05 ml per pound of weight given twice a day for 5 days. It tastes bad, so it is best to give it orally and not to mix it in water. Be aware that Baytril (enrofloxacin) is banned for chickens in the US, but it is sometimes prescribe pd by some vets.

ah so I wasn’t able to find the 10% and bought the 2.5 do you think I should just return it and try and find the 10 or can I still give it safely to my hen?

unfortunately I couldn’t find the 10% and ended up buying the 2.5 before I remembered to check back here on replies. Is the 2.5 still safe to give to her?

Yes, it’s fine. You’ll just have to give 4x the volume as the 10%.

Yes, you can still use it, it just takes more to make the correct dose.
