BCM? girl or boy?

I bought what are supposed to be Black Copper and Black Marans. This is my first time with the breed. Are they Marans? Cal you tell gender? Thanks!!

1st one, unsure. Second one...definite boy.

As for breed....not much help with Marans...sorry.

Gosh, they look like my cuckoo marans (not the color pattern, though). Same shape and general 'gangly' look. I'm a total newbie, though.

Dwarf goats, eh? Do you milk them? Next year, we wamt those type.

Two cockerels, neither of which appear to be purebred Marans. The first one has a black comb which isn't allowed. The second one has white feathers which aren't allowed. Sorry.

The Blk C Marans chicks still have their egg-tooth

They have some white coloration on chest and head. Could your blk copper guy be young enough to have some chick coloring?

Hardy birds, they seem to me.

Eye color is incorrect for Marans, also. Should be amber.

I was told that Marans have white legs, and all my Marans have white legs.
