BCM is my sweetest chick a boy?

I'm really hoping this is a girl, the back is totally feathered, but the comb I have my doubts.
These pics were taken today, the hatch was 4/9/10
I don't have any other marans to compare to, unfortunately only 2 hatched out of the dozen and the other one had issues and died. This is the sweetest of the chicks, will sit in my lap, or nested in my hand and not try to take off (even refused to get off and get back into the brooder).

Usually the sweetest are the boys. With that comb though, it's iffy. It could be a pullet with a large comb or a cockerel. My cockerels usually have very prominent combs by that age, so I'd wait if I were you. Especially with noone else to compare to.

Thanks, I will keep this one until it crows (hopefully thats never) If its a boy he will have a place at my moms ranch with the BCMs in the next hatch (once they are big enough). I rather keep this one here though.

My cockerels combs are really red by that age. However, my pullets have almost non-existant combs so yours is a toss up. lol Good luck!

I also have 2 BCMs that hatched 4/9 (only two that hatched.) I'm afraid both of mine are boys. Yours is much more feathered than either of mine (good sign for you!) Also, both of mine have HUGE feet and legs. All I have to compare them to are the Ameraucanas that hatched at the same time. But I'm pretty sure mine are both boys. I have higher hopes for yours. Wait and see. And good luck!

Definitely wait. I had 1 BCM that was tricky. I had 1 obvious boy, 1 obvious girl and the tricky one, which turned out to be a girl. By about 5 weeks the cockeral had coppering coming in on his chest and his comb turned pink. The 2 females stayed black (with the white on the wing) until 8 weeks or so.
