Bear attack

That's great! Bunnies are FAST little munchkins! I was hoping more would turn up! I'm so sorry this happened.

We've had two bald eagle males circling and one almost got one of my layers while they were out grazing. I've never appreciated our resident fat and lazy raccoon so much.

I've noticed animals with babies to feed will do out of the ordinary things to feed their own so maybe it's a mama bear showing your coop all this new attention.

Hope that's the last you see of that furry behind!

So sorry for your loss and pray the little ones are found safe. I freaked out when I found what I'm positive are racoon prints on two sides of my coop, but a bear wow. May I ask how you handle a predator like that coming back around?

I think with bears most agree electric fencing is the only real deterrent. I have a few friends who live in the foothills of the cascades that have had to put it up both for livestock and inside pets :(

I think it varies by state but while I'm sure a bb gun would scare it off waiting up all night for it and then confronting it might be harder! (That's not judgement and in fact just the crazy kind of thing I'd probably do :gig)
