yes, shes been bagged up on her last 3 teats for about a week. still has no bag on the top (chest) set but you can express colostrum. . . which i try not to do.

We had a litter of puppies 11 weeks ago and two of them were breech. The first one was stuck and I had to pull her out. She just went to live in Illinois

She is also a trouble maker - go figure. I think the birth is hard but it is even harder to send them to new homes.

Well, we are back from the vet. Even the vet herself can not believe how HUGE she is.

She actually gained 3 lbs since last week and the vet said instead of just being soft her cervix is open fully. She's now dripping milk, and bagging up in front. Everyone that saw her asked her where her puppies were . . . and i had to say still inside.

The vet did a x-ray to count puppies... I'll get to that in a minute

She also said that the activities of the day could start labor, since shes ready to go at any moment OR she will wait and have them over the weekend. No puppies by monday AM = C-section. I know I'm forgetting something . . . The vet said that unless we dont see the delivery that she'll see her four days after birth to check the puppies over, unless I'm going to let her do the deworming ect at 3 weeks- I think i'll do that myself so I will bring them all in for a once over then. I've decided against the 'clean out' shot unless of course I get home to puppies and no afterbirth.

Everything looked great on x-ray- three puppies are straightening and getting ready to come out, three are still balled up. they are on the big side of normal sized.

Were having puppies now. Guess our big day out paid off.....

We lost one, have 2 decent sized girls nursing away. More coming I'm sure.

No greenstuff, except with the first puppy , are the umbilical cords supposed to be kind of stringy and gross looking? They are about 4 inches long, do i need to dip in iodine, trim shorter and keep clean?

My dog took care of the umbilical cords herself but she bit them off at about an inch long (maybe 1/2 inch) Anywho they weren't very long.

Sorry you already lost one. Was it the first one?

ETA: Oh yeah they were stringy and gross looking
