How can you ever sleep? They are so darn cute! Beautiful mama too. Congratulations.

oh what beautiful pups she had-so healthy and fat

, I am so happy you had so much help from Redyre Rotties-my computer went down for a few days

. I agree with them about being careful with the other animals, my lab was just fine with my male lab but then my sweet Brittany came over to check everything out and she almost ripped his head off-mothers can be quite crazy like, I would be more worried about the other animals getting hurt than them hurting the pups. My lab got a slight case of mastitis-it came on very quickly and she had 9 hungry lab pups eating away, I checked her all the time and she still ended up with it (of coarse we went right to her vet).

chickensducks&agoose :

they HAVE eyeballs though, right?

Eta: The word Grump just snuck into that post. I find that hilarious.

Their eyes will be formed and open about 2 weeks chickensducks&agoose-just like kittens. Oh believe me puppys are difficult, exhausting and tons of work-kittens are pretty much a breeze compared. About 4 weeks old they think they need to attempt to get into everything and make a mess and its a non stop battle to make sure you have nothing around that they can get hurt with-talk about baby proofing

Ok so here's my next big question... when can I leave the house?

I've been sitting here watching them constantly.... I'm needing to go to the store and get the car serviced !

kinda kidding- but when am i out of the danger zone?

It sort of depends on your grump. If she is careful, and you are not having issues, I will start going out for short periods (hour or so, or as long as the puppies normally sleep) in the second week.

I will put them on the mom, let them tank up, go to sleep, and then I will run out for about as long as they normally nap.

how long can mama have a break for? I took her out to potty today and she was a running, leaping maniac. She doesn't like sitting in a square with the puppies all day- I take her out about 6 times for maybe 15 mins each ...

* ETA

thats for playtime, not just in/out of the box... but I'd like her to be with them as much as possible- she chooses to lay on the other side of the bed if i don't shut her in and she only goes back in the box if they REALLY start to scream.

Well, we made it to week 2.

Redyre has been nice enough to help me via email- we had a little poop issue but we( vet and I with imput from Redyre) feel it is most likely over eating causing the issue- you'll see why in a minute

Puppies have doubled or MORE their birth weight... well, all but one- the smallest was having some nipple troubles so we help her out several times a day.

Anyway you all don't care about me, just the puppies.. so here they are- Everyone is in one picture each.
