Bedding question

My BO chicks are 1-2 weeks when we got them and did fine with pine shavings for their bedding. Today we got babies. Two of them may be just a week old. The others are younger.
Can I use pine shavings at this age? Currently the they have a puppy pad in their brooder.

When I get baby chicks I usually use pine shavings and then cover that for the first couple of days with paper towels (rough side up). This helps prevent them from eating the shavings and learning what is food and what isn't. I know a lot of people like the puppy pads but be careful as the get older because they can start ripping them apart.

Pine shavings are working great for my 5 day old chicks!
