Bedding?

Hi, i was using the Eco-flake bedding. It was suppose to be double sifted to have very little dust. But it is very dusty. I need bedding that i can use that is not very dusty. Anyone know any bedding.

The bedding i was using was pine shavings. What brand of pine shavings would you recommend?

Straw works well for older birds. The chicks have trouble sometimes.

I just don't know if TS flakes would be more or less dusty than the eco one mentioned in OP. Probably a lot cheaper though.

Mine are as dusty as one can expect from wooden shavings. I dont have issues with then and my birds more often than not don't sneeze while i'm working on cleaning

I can't handle all of the dust. But i pay 6 dollars for a big bag of bedding.

People often blame the bedding for dust, but the fact is that chickens -- birds in general -- are dusty by nature.

Most of the dust isn't from the bedding, though they *do* scratch the bedding into fine particles eventually, it's from the birds themselves -- feather dander, primarily.

Even my cockatiel, who had a wire grate between him and the shavings in the tray, shed enough dust to coat all nearby surfaces with it weekly. (This is one of the reasons I brood outdoors).

My chicks had aspen shavings which worked very well for us.
