Beekman Boys show

Whats the hangup about them not getting married?? After all they were together for more than ten years! I know some states are not legal but no one can not say they CAN'T have a wedding of their OWN.

I've have plenty of gay friends and they are fun to be with LOL! I would have them be my neighbors any time of the day than my own crotchy neighbors of mine!!!!!!!!!!!

Colonwy, I hope you will enjoy working on the farm LOLOLOL! Well at least he could do is bring home the bacon and try to mow the lawn LOLOL! I think you guys will be fine, the example of Beekman Boys gave me a good look of what gay people CAN accomplish, and how they can settle their differences. They are no different than a married couple!

Seems like we're(and Farmer John!) are the only ones who notices what an unpleasant person Brent is.

Also great are the couple who own the hotel in town. They seem way cool and fun. I'm GLAD there's another couple who've been together(25 years!) and are nothing like the Beekman boys.

It's not legal in most states actually, not just some. It's still illegal in NY(they are in NY right?)

You're right, they could have a ceremony...... but absolutely understand why anybody would refuse to settle for anything "less", when the legal, actual thing is denied to them. My guess is they are holding out for when it's truly legal for gays to marry.. I say hooray to that.

Thats what we are doing. I absolutely refuse to even consider getting engaged, let alone have any sort of ceremony, until it is legal in montana (i want the ceremony there). And, since I figure hell will freeze over before that happens, its gonna be a long wait!

while I understand what you are saying, and where it is coming from, at the same time its this kind of statement that makes it frustrating for us to be accepted period. People look at us and see us as flighty, irresponsible, drug addled, alcoholic(sp?), marriage destroyers and are always surprised when one of us does something outside of that. Granted, I know several gay people like that, but i also know several straight people like that and to be honest I'm always surprised when they do something that goes against that as well. Gays are quite capable of building a barn, raising livestock, sitting on a company board, being doctors and teachers and construction workers and fishers and farmers and oil riggers and what not. I change the oil and tires on my car just as easily as I make a darn good turkey, sew a quilt, and wring a chicken's neck. My hunting may be mediocre, but I haven't really had the practice. I fish well, climb decently, and read better than most of my peers, gay or straight. In many ways I am glad this show is out there, because it offers a decent insight into the fact that we are just like everyone else, with the same frustrations, worries, joys, and wants and needs. But at the same time, I sometimes wish they had found a couple less, hmm, stereotypical because then people view them and go, ooooh, thats what today's modern gay is!

sorry, i managed to hijack my own thread with this one. I'll get off my soapbox and retire back underneath it now

Hats off to you colonwy LOL! One of a kind!

I think Farmer John is gay too because he was living with a partner as well...it popped up when he had his back surgery and the "boys" had to fend themselves to midwives the goats' births.

I look forward in seeing them on Weds and Sunday nights! Save them on your Autotunes! (DirectTV here).
