Been visited by mink. at what point do i get a live trap

I generally buy mine from F and T or MTP They both sell them the link you posted is the same type trap I use the Victor is only one brand duke is another as well as sleepy creek. Mass is pretty restrictive as far as what kind of trap you can use kina like Jersey if I were going to set a trap I would check in with game and fish or DNR or who ever regulates / enforces wildlife laws where you are and be sure it is legal to use the type trap I was planning on using. the smaller live traps if you putz with the triggers a little can be made to catch mice it is just not as easy or as fast as using a coni . looks like you need to check in with your local DFW oofice to use a coni look on page 2 right above mandatory training

thats OK anytime pal I research wildlife law everyday I am kina familiar with a number of states I have friends that trap in. I trap mostly in NC and VA I know them the best

Get the trap NOW. I lost nineteen this morning to a mink that spent the last three months looking for a way into my coop so it could slink in and slaughter my chooks. Once a predator knows the chooks are there (especially ones as determined as members of the weasel family), they won't stop until they get them. You don't want to walk into that, trust me.

So sorry for your loss, but thanks for taking the time to post and hopefully save someone else from walking into that horror. It takes such a small space for a mink to slip in and can happen even to people that have spent the time and money to really secure their coops.

I would get a live trap and set it now, before you lose any birds. If you are going to raise any type of birds you will eventually need a live trap, so now is as good a time as any to get one and start using it.

I am terribly sorry for your loss, really. sheesh.

I think I will get a few different sizes.

I don't think it has returned in several days. i even put cat kibbles out last night and they were all there in the am................

I have several live traps and use them to catch and relocate predators that come checking out the menu, Just a suggestion but if you are going to buy a live trap don't get a cheap one, I bought several once cause the price was good and they all had to have reinforcements done to make them hold an animal once it caught one, and once caught if they get out are harder to catch in a trap again, I've since only bought good quality traps with a heavy gauge wire makes a world of difference.

We tried traps for ours too... i had some good stinky fish cat food... tuna fish...sardines... and even used the chickens he had killed the day before..
Nothing! He was a smart little thing!
So..just cause he hasnt taken any bait..dont be fooled in thinking that he hasnt come back....
Trust me..once hes killed at your house..he will be back...
