Good to see an update on your goslings.
They look great!
Maybe in time they will settle down as
they learn to trust you.
Their wings will droop when then heavy blood filled
pin feathers are coming in.
Not to worry unless they flip out.
Just make sure to not over feed them and don't give them feed over 16 -18% protein.
Lots of grass to graze on and exercise will help prevent AW too.
Thank you all for your support and advice on raising these sweet little souls. They proved to me that all geese aren't mean (like people tend to say). Unfortunately, some kind of animal got all 3 of them this morning.
I will miss them and their sweet little eyes very much. They were out free ranging and I felt a quiet strange feeling as I went into the back yard. I knew something was wrong. As I searched the land for any signs I did see some feathers at the bottom of the hill where they used to hide. They had a short life but it was VERY good one. The life they had before was awful. It would have been a longer life but an awful one. I will always remember those little sweeties.
to you cottage rose for always answering all my questions.
Sorry for your loss. At least they had good lives. I let mine out to free range during the day and I know that this could happen, but they deserve to be happy geese, splashing in the pond and running amok around the yard.
, I know what it's like to lose a gosling we lost George at 4 weeks earlier this year to a mystery illness, I think he was weak from birth, I cried for ages. At least you know you gave them a GREAT life while they were with you.
I was nervous this morning when I was out in the garden with Jack our chinese grey, he's only 5 weeks and was chirping loads, but I could hear and see a buzzard flying around real close:/, so I kept a keen eye on my lttle boy.
Hope you get some more
