Before my chickens start laying, is there anything you all would recommend doing? Just wanting to make sure my eggs are healthy to consume. My chickens are currently very healthy and happy. I have not dewormed them because I have not had any issues. Is this something that needs to be done before consuming eggs?

It's not necessary to deworm before eggs are laid. A lot of folks do that annually. The eggs should be fine to eat, and in my opinion, pullet eggs are the best! Don't wash the eggs unless there's poop on them, as they have a bloom coating which blocks the pores in the eggshell that keeps them fresher, and helps prevent bacterial contamination. Like @igorsMistress said, washing right before cracking them is best. When storing eggs either on the counter or in the fridge, put them pointy end down in the carton, if you use one. I've heard this extends their freshness, so I've adopted the habit.

Gather your eggs at least one a day. Do not leave them in a nest hoping one of your hens will go broody. I use golf balls for that and an added incentive for my hens to lay in the nest boxes.
if your eggs are clean you can decide if your are going to wash them or not. it is your decision and you will hear good points on both sides here.
i wash mine briefly in cold water just because i feel better about it.
an egg when it is laid has a invisible coating on it, bloom it is called, that helps prevent bacteria from getting thru the shell. this Bloom is removed when the egg is washed.
if you are intending to hatch some eggs, do NOT wash or refrigerate. just keep in an egg carton, point down and tip carton from side to side each day for up to 10 days until you have enough saved for your broody hen or incubator. (now i am assuming you have a rooster so the eggs are fertle).
if your egg is dirty, wash it.
Enjoy!
