I'm new to raising chickens and I have so many questions but first I'd like to know if you can train your chickens to crow at you bc I can stick my head out my back door and call one of my roosters names and tell them to let mama hear them and they will crow, is that just a coincidence

Chickens are actually very smart and they can learn to do things if you are repetitive enough.

One of My chickens will fly up onto my shoulder and do farm chores with me, she has been doing it ever since I taught her to.
When I go to feed them I walk out and call them and they all run to the corner where I feed them but I have them spoiled bc I feed them cans of corn

Rooster crowing is a form of communication. Roosters are very fond of hearing themselves crow, and they take immediate advantage of any excuse to crow. Seeing you is a splendid excuse, and if you speak to the roo, he feels he has no choice but to respond.

When you're out shopping and a fellow shopper says "Good morning", do you ignore them or do you respond back to them? Same thing with roosters. They live to be vocal. Just like some humans.

I'm an early bird - and usually let the dog out at around 4:30 a.m, when its still pitch dark. Within 10 seconds of me turning on a light, the cockerels start crowing from inside the coop. He must see the light through the window. Then the dog barks a quick hello, and everything goes quiet again until sunrise. Next crowing starts the second I come outside with fresh water and more food.
