So my new silkies were born today and I just noticed that one of the chicks back row is completely bent backwards (up toward it's bottom) is there any way to fix this and will it cause problems in the future. I think he's a rooster by the way.

You can tape the toe in the position that you want it to be.

Since they are growing so fast, it usually only has to be taped for 3 days.

I like using painters tape since it is sticky, but not too sticky, and has some traction to it, if I need to use it as a "shoe".

The problem is I don't know if it's bent 180 degrees or just the toe is tent up.

can you post a photo?

yep, hard to see.... is it the extra 5th toe that looks odd?

If it will not make it difficult for the chick to walk, I would just ignore it.
it's the toe in the very back of the foot. I'm just concerned that when it grows the nail will be facing up towards it's bottom and will make sitting difficult.
