You know, I was recently reading Earth Home Garden and saw you can leach acorns to make butter/corn meal/etc etc. I've got loads of woods here, I'd love to try it

OMG, if that's the next health food I could be rich with all the oak trees we've got! I'll have to beat the squirrels off (j/k) though!!

LOL, I just quit eating meat! Oh well..... maybe I could make them into dog food? They're not vegetarians!
We have one squirrel that figured out how to get into our garden shed. A couple of mornings I went in to get something and it scared the **** out of me! I've learned to knock on the door and he/she scampers out of wherever it is that it gets in, runs up a tree and scolds me. We've gone all through the shed. Can't figure out what it's after. No nest of babies. Weird critter! Gets chased a lot by the chickens too when it gets too close to their food. They'd probably eat it if they could catch it!

I would just like to say that, as always, you peeps are a bad influence. I bought a Laptop Lunch kit last night after reading this thread! I'm always in the car for work, traveling to clients' houses around the city, and I spend weekends away at dog shows...which usually means a bazillion Ziploc containers or plastic bags for my lunch stashed into a cooler. I ordered from ReusableBags.com so I got the book with my kit.

I would have liked one of the really cute, authentic bentos from some of the other sites, but the LL kit just seems so practical. I can't wait to get it!

Just FYI, you get the book with the basic kit on the LL site, too, but I don't know how the price compares to ReusableBags. I need to check out that website, I've never heard of it!
