having been born in yokohama and living in japan for 18 years, my mother of japanese decent NEVER made me spam musubi. i do have slices of spam with rice, and eggs over easy every weekend, though. and if i have no meat available, it's spam in my yummy fried rice. my son and i are definitely a fan of spam. crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. yum yum.

btw, yakitori is spelled with two "i"s.

Hi ladies,
I have to say that I think BirdsofParadise was not being harsh but added a little tongue-in-cheek hurmor to this thread. Dry humor? yes. Harsh? not at all

I am so excited to have found this thread! I try to pack healthy, appetizing lunches for my daughter every day. I'll be reading this tonight when I have more time. I want to know the best place to get the best boxes and recipes kids will eat. Right now I have the challenge of new braces on her teeth, so she's eating pasta, yogurt, mashed potatoes, squishy bread...

my grandfather had spam in WW2 and learned to love it I guess because they always had it on hand. I like it too

but I get the low salt kind. Noting like a fried egg and spam sandwich.

Nobody posting their lunch pics anymore?

I haven't been able to make Bella's lunches for weeks now. But with Mom finally home and free of drains and central lines and IVs (YAY!) hopefully I'll be able to get back on track soon. I found some fortune cookies the other day, and she'll be tickled to get one of those in her lunch!
