Besides Chickening..

I'm a college student majoring in anthropology. I'm not really sure what I will be doing when I graduate, but I plan on grad school. I hope to get involved with teaching and implementing sustainable agriculture in the developing world. I'm also into primatology so I might do some work studying monkeys. Capuchins are my favorite but I have studied howlers too. My hobby is chickenology and I have loads of fun raising my small flock which will soon grow larger when I move to the country.

Hi everyone,
My Story.....We live about 45 minutes south of Savannah Georgia in a little town called Ludowici. I am married 16 yrs DH works for the Department of Defense and is a retired Army Tanker which is how we landed in this little town. I have 3 kids, well not so much kids anymore. DD(20) DS(18) and my baby girl is 13. We have a pretty little Chihuahua named Lolita, 4 Red eared sliders, bunch of fish, 15 hens, 4 Roos, and 7 chicks all on 2 acres which we are working on buying soon. I, like chicken-mama am another fortunate one which has the luxury of staying home and tending to my girls, garden and family.

I spent 25 years in the medical field in Northern VA. Quit to come back home to the WV hills. We have 54 acres of heaven. I spend my time working around the homeplace, taking care of my dogs and chickens and 2 parrots, hunting and fishing. DH is a career Firefighter in Prince Wm County, VA, he'll be home for good in a little less than 2 years.

I live about 1 hour north of pittsburgh, near morraine state park. I have been a critical care registered nurse for about 11 years. I really love my job though it is stress ful at times. I really want to attend farrier school(black smithing), i start a program parttime in ky this fall. I'm hoping to make it a side business when i'm finished. Dh is a computer analyst and drives daily to pittsburgh, and we really enjoy living on our 18 acres with the horses, dogs, and now chickens!

I'm a second grade teacher (my kids are in art right now). I've been doing this for just about 12 years now. I thought all kids were great, until this year when I have found out that The Omen is NOT a work of fiction, I have seen the birthmark.

It's funny how much one kid can get under your skin. Anyway, I'm also a gardener, chef, and beekeeper (recently started). There just aren't enough hours in the day. So, I'm attempting to give up sleeping so I can keep up with it all.

I am a school teacher. I teach Texas History to 7th graders. I coached for 15 years. I now spend time with my son, and our animals on the 17.5 acres we recently bought.

I work for an advertising agency (McCann-Erickson in San Francisco) and plan online media for Microsoft. I also publish a wine buying guide (WineBlueBook.com) and inform folks about upcoming wine release dates (WineRelease.com). I am about as far away you can get to a chicken farmer. My friends can't believe I raise chickens.

I just have to say, as a school volunteer from kinders to 7th graders, I, too, have seen the birthmark! It really is amazing how one little person can have such a driving impact on a group of 25, isn't it? LOL
