Check and see if they are straight run. Most hatcheries don't offer them sexed.
The two cockerels I hatched out had to be related to the devil. They hated my guts. I'd be hesitant because of that, I've heard that d'Anver cock/erels are known for being pretty aggressive.

But my hens are super friendly. I had a black crossed-beaked one and I'd be able to say "Tiny, let's go for a walk!" and she'd follow me around XD

They are also pretty amazing broodies. Pip went broody this year, and I had a blue cuckoo who went broody, but I never found her nest and she never came back
