BEST BROWN EGG LAYERS

Yeah im makeing a red star breed. I say making i have the chicks to do it. LOL I want to sell eggs and make some money to pay of my Chicken Debt and expand my flock. right now i have about 100 chickens all together

The production red.

Known for egg laying.
Mines has never stopped laying until molt. She is a sweet heart.

Australopes. They are very good layers. And docile.

Newhampshire Reds.Great egglayers, but are very aggressive toward others.

My new Hampshire are not aggressive to other birds.
I have never seen a BA sex link do they have the same coloring as the sex link cross with a red rooster? I assume not. The world record for egg production in a years time was set by a black Australorp who laid 364 eggs in 365 days though obviously your run of the mill hatchery bird isn't likely to do that

Well its in the breed. It states it in the 50,or 40 breeds page.I have had many NHRs,and yes, they are very aggressive.
The australorp.
I understand she layed most eggs, but the production was a very good layer many people use them for this.

Red stars, golden comets, cinnamon queen etc are all red sexlinks accept for the PR RIR NHR ETC.

well my new hampshires are not aggressive as a matter of fact they are probably the most docile of the breeds we have. From reading on forums I have gathered that the production reds have a reputation for aggression, you are the first I have heard make that claim of nhr's. I assume a ba bpr cross produces an all black hen rather than a typical black sex link with the brown streaks in the neck? I think the Black's are nice looking hens I ended up with 3 of them out of my last hatching

My first chickens were New Hampshires way back in 1950...They came from a neighbor's farm flock acquired originally from Colonial Poultry Farms through Sears, Roebuck.....Totally beautiful and great birds..Of course everything looks terrific through the prism of 65 years....Most of the anecdotes about NH aggressiveness involve the tendency of the males to be very territorial and competitive with other males......The ones in 1950 were that way and another much larger flock in 1988, also from Colonial, displayed the same traits in the males....A friend who orders from McMurray has no problem with NH males and other breed males but does with NH vs. NH males.....I would hesitate to characterize NHS as "very aggressive"....However, my experience is way too limited to state flatly one way or the other.....Also, to this point: Most NH'S sold today are not the same as the NH'S a few decades ago...They have been way to commercialized by hatcheries that have mixed them with RIR's.....

The commercial hatchery has been the downfall of all the breeds I'm afraid, I have experienced much the same as you in the nh chickens though I haven't had any aggressive roosters yet other than normal fighting between the young ones before I get around to butchering them. My chickens came from McMurray as well and I haven't really had any issues with them
