Best Chicken Mix Projects (Anyone who has done a project can post here)

Make sure you put lots of pics and please label the parentage. Part of this thread allows for others to create some of these GREAT mixes, without wondering what to add to the equation.
Thanks

he's over a yr old and is off of a cx roo and bo hen below is a shot of his legs

next is the 4 month old roos from the cx hen and bo roo

I an surprised the birds in pictures 3 & 4 did not inherit more stout legs from the Cornish Rock parent.

Can you post pictures of your Cornish Rock Roos and Hens?

Two Ton Sally early this fall she will be 3 come May she is my last cx

Big Foot at 1 yr old

Goliath at a year old both roos died around 1 1/2 yrs old from heart attacks on the roost during the night (I check and their hearts were blowen out). But all 3 of these weighed 25 lbs before a year old so I guess Sally might be 30 lbs ( cant re-weigh her as the kiddos broke the scale)

Oh, these are some great crosses! I haven't ever crossed my birds yet, but I've wanted to for a long time- chicken genetics make it so easy and interesting.

My favorite so fare is that Polish x Americana cross- Cute, crested, and a blue egg-layer too! (And that Polish x Am. laced hen is beautiful!)

Marraduna Euskal Oilarra over hatchery Black Giant hens... These girls started laying at 24 weeks and have been awesome winter layers, no supplemental lighting. The two roosters were absolutely delicious, dressing out at 5lbs @ 28 weeks.

OK,
I'll bite, what is a "Marraduna Euskal Oilarra", they look like barred rocks.
Marraduna Euskal Oilarra = Barred Red Basque Rooster

The Marraduna variety of the Basque hen (Euskal Oiloa) is a a barred red farm chicken from Spain. If you look closely at the pics you can see the red leaking thru.

Here's a pic and link to the Euskal Oiloa thread.

These are pretty birds, but not the 'correct' Marraduna color. Per the Spanish standard (no APA recognition or SOP at this time) the Marraduna is basically a barred red bird i.e. think of a barred New Hampshire.

The rooster should not be crele colored as this one is. No black/gray/smuttiness on the breast.

The hen should have no hints of mille-fleur coloration as seen on the back and head, but more of the red barring you see on her underside/breast, cleaner, w/out grayish tones. Legs should also be yellow.

Here is a rooster and a hen. I'm aiming for slightly darker reddish tones to the feathering but there is some speculation that the breed also carries a cream or other gene that in double dose w/barring will also lighten the red to this buff/lemon color.
