I used to have rabbits with those water bottles that have a little tube with a ball to lick: when the ball & tube froze, the rabbit could not drink, even though the bottle itself wasn't frozen.
I’m curious about this. Why do they cut a hole in the side? What do they use to get the water out and where do they put it? The cap?I've seen people use the plastic gallon milk jugs. They cut out a hole in a side & then melt the cut edges a bit so they're not sharp.

If you live where temps are below 32°F.... they will freeze, no doubt.I guess they may freeze. I will see this winter.
