best egg layers of brown eggs ??

Can't go wrong with Buff Orps, my (7) have laid large brown unblemished
eggs daily since 9/11/09 also have 5-RIR and 3- Barred Plymouth Rox that I wouldn't trade for any other.. These birds D.O.B. 05/01/09

They all seem to be GREAT egg layers from reading all the posts

Orpingtons or Sussex the English class are more prone to sit than American or Mediterranian classes. Cochins , Brahmas, and Langshans are also broodies I don't think they'll lay as reg as the Orpington though.
Some say Black Australorpos but I've never had one go broody.

And if all else fails OEG they'll lay a few then sit a few regularly mostly all year long they dont seem to be seasonal too much.

That is what I was gonna ask. I looked through this thread and didn't see production red till then. They are excellent layers of brown eggs. My first choice is the Black sex link(Rock Red). They lay the smooth medium to dark brown eggs that I like to see. Not sure how early they start laying but I am pretty sure I read they lay faster than a lot of hens as well.
