Can I mix Sussex's with bigger breeds?

If I were to get more hens I want to know what is the number one best breed for egg laying? I know it can vary but I would like some suggestions.

Right now, I would say that my top hen for egg production is a New Hampshire. She lays these eggs, (XL), that are so rich tasting and she lays everyday. Never skips a day. If anything, occasionally she'll lay two eggs a day. They are these really big light brown eggs. And they overall are a very sweet breed. I raised her in my room- she follows me around, very sweet birds. Salmons Faverolles (SF's) lay a bit smaller of an egg than the NH... But they really are constant. Those are the best layers right now that I own. :)

I don't think its possible to lay more than one egg a day?

Every so often a hen will lay two eggs in a day, which isn't too often, not weekly- but it is actually possible. (Something with the ovary system will casue it frequently).

Leghorns will lay more eggs on less feed than just about any other breed. Sexlinks can come close, but aren't really a breed. They are a hybrid.
