I use Metzer; efowl, and hamburgs. Don't expect a great selection until spring. However Metzer has some nice white layers not to be overlooked.

X2 I do not live in Iowa, but my first chicks came from McMurray's 7 years ago. They have the best quality as far as I have seen.I personally would recommend MMcM especially because of where you live. Murray McMurray is in Iowa too!
I had a great experience with Murray, I have 40 little peeplings that are all doing great! Customer service is amazing. You will have to wait for spring though(some others are still shipping now)
lol Then what you really need to figure is how much gas it would take for a 6 hour drive. Thanks everyone! sorry it took me so long to display.. was rather busy the last few days.
We had some from McMurray at the start of the season.. and to say the least the raccoons got to enjoy them before we got to .
Only thing we are unsure about with McMurray is the prices are a little more even if we plan on getting some shipped to us. We are also looking into getting a large order of ducks too.
Though as of now he is all about Meyer and so am I.. Guess time will tell. I did email McMurray to see if we could pick up our order to save on cost.. though its still about a 3 hour drive to go there.
