Best meat bird to raise?

I am looking a dozen eggs every few months to have meat for the family. Is it possible to raise what they call freedom rangers? Or another meat bird that I could let out to freerange during the day and put back in the coop at night? Looking for something That i can eat at bout 4 months old. I have dual purpose hens right now and I eat the Roos, but I was looking for something more just meat bird. thanks

yes, freedom rangers will be plenty big enough at that age. they do not breed true, though, if you're asking if you can keep hatching them
