Clark and Claudia with their araucana chick (real araucana and it is rumpless!)

Clark is a very good daddy, he even shares the nest box at night and sees to the chick all day with Claudia. They are very devoted parents.

Claudia is a few years old and is a royal palm. Clark, a blue slate, was a recent rescue and I am not sure of his age. He was in very poor shape when he arrived, his feathers in tatters, covered in dried duck manure and very lame. His feet have severe chemical burns from living in liquid duck manure.

The chick is about 5 days old in the photos.

Polly hurt her foot and I had to take her to the vet. Polly Roo took over caring for the babies while she was gone and even had them tucked up under him for bedtime when I got home.
