Best pet duck?

I ordered 3 ducklings 1 Pekin, 2 Khaki Campbell's and saw a baby black East Indie. I don't want a call duck so upon doing research I saw the Cayuga baby.. :) :)
I had to add one to my order.. Just in time... All due home July 23rd ish 2012. Doing a lot of reading and posting. For any of you breeders and experts out there, advice is welcome.
I had ducks growing up but only chickens as an adult. We're going for the pet and egg layer combo in our ducklings. I do plan to hold them LOTS as the imprinting is AWESOME for Ducks and Geese I have read.
Peace and Blessings to all duck lovers and poultry raisers!!

Are you looking for pets or do you like the idea of food / eggs? Female ducks aren't mean if you get them as babies and handle them lots. :) You will then become mom.. :)

If you are interested in getting mallards but are worried about them flying away, You could get Rowens which are basically the same but can not fly very well. I have one and it is very sweet and fairly quiet.

Males are the quiet ones, and any female can be loud. Any duck breed can make a good pet, and it all depends on how you handle the ducklings and also on their individual personalities. I'd recommend runners as they are sweet, affectionate, and quirky, and I have never heard of anyone disliking their temperament. An example of the individual personality making a difference are my two rouens. One likes being talked to and hand fed but doesn't care much for cuddles. :/ But the other is my special little baby and will leave its group to come say hi. It'll also hop in my lap and snuggle if I sit in the grass. My khaki cambells snuggle, too, but are a bit more pushy and prefer to stay with the safety of their group than leave just to say hi to mama.
