Best place to keep food/water?

They came out this morning! I went to open the door and they were chirping and either pecking or scratching at it. When I opened it they stayed in the doorway and I put some food on the edge of the ramp. They started to eat and then I made a food trail down the ramp and they all came out. I think they are starting to see me as "food lady", they didn't run away when I was near the door. So does my excitement make me an official crazy chicken lady?
