OMG I've always owned Dobermans and my kid talked me into a Sheltie and I'm about to have a crashout.

As someone who likes quiet, that would drive me crazy too! I would discourage the barking by never giving them attention or anything they want when they bark. Have you tried teaching him/her the quiet command?

Yes. Puppy. How do I put this nicely... it's wicked smart and never shuts up. Dobermans (puppies included) are quiet, almost stealthy like cats despite their size. This thing is cute as can be but 10 pounds of pure bark.

DD has an amazing little Sheltie - my Granddogger, Sunflower. Hang in there. Things will settle down in a bit.
