best place to order chicks from?

NT, Since you are in southern CA, is there is a Red Barn close to you? I just bought a couple of Aracuanas from the Red Barn in Reseda today ($3 each). June 31, I bought a couple of barred rock and two other Araucanas. These are all pullets. The girl said they usually get their chicks Tuesdays, but do not sell them until Fridays. It might be cheaper for you to drive out instead of paying a lot of shipping fees for chicks, unless you are looking for a particular breed.

I'm new here so don't yet know how to post pictures of my baby chicks to show you what I got.

Mine came from Meyer-no issues. I ordered four and Meyer called me on a Monday to tell me they were getting my order ready and I got them on Wednesday early afternoon. All arrived healthy and so far they're doing great...they're 5 weeks old now. I would order from Meyer again.

Meyers, mypetchicken, purely poultry and mt healthy all great places to order. Mypetchicken will accept your small order (special heated boxes)
Please stay away from Ideal in texas. I ordered twice and lost all but 3.... even our state inspector when he was here mentioned he had been hearing negative things about the hatchery. When I took the chicks to the vet, I was told it was simply a weak hatch. Just be careful, I wouldn't wish that on anyone else.
