Best Poop Removal Method

Every so often my sister's dog will sneak out and eat the chicken poop and my sister has tried to stop her. So now she waits for my sister to go in

I have 15 chickens that free range and love to sit on my back porch and lower deck so I have to sweep the poop off daily

I agree with all the comments about shoes being the best poop collection tool. I have given up and given the yard, driveway and what used to be the flower garden to the chickens. Our vegtable garden is fenced in to keep the girls out and I've placed a bench next to the back door so you can sit down and remove your shoes before coming in. It's funny to go out sometimes and find a hen sun bathing there....

I have a great dane (who leaves great dane sized piles in the yard), so I don't even SEE chicken poop in the yard or driveway anymore...

And we've gone to decorative rock in our landscaping (due to mold issues, not chickens). The chickens do get into the landscaping, but it doesn't look disturbed thanks to the rock...

(a) stop raking up the fall leaves. Poop disappears into the leaves and you can tell people you are using natural mulching techniques'
(b) get a dog to eat the poo
(c) only go out at night, or just don't look down
(d) encourage them to visit on the porch, and then the poop in the driveway does not seem so bad

Buff Orpingtons have some really large poopies. Like a small dog. Really.

Where I live, the soil is really sandy, so I just wash down the poop piles in the afternoons with the 'full' setting on the water hose. It works for me but it may not for you.

...like a small dog......really...

I love it when my wife's dog eats it or better yet his own poop and comes in and my wife gives him a kiss.
I only kiss her after showers and brushing teeth.

Get a dog? I know it sounds gross but I have 10 chickens and one dog. The chickens free-range all the time - I don't even have a run for them. The chickens eat the dog poop and the dog eats the chicken poop and although I only have a small, suburban backyard, I actually don't have much poop out there at all. Put it this way: the last time I scooped poop was about 3 years ago. It hasn't been necessary since.
