Best price I can find

While I understand about wanting to provide better nutrition for your birds ... and not over spending ... sometimes ... you get what you pay for ...

Have you heard of https://www.southlandorganics.com/products/poultry-probiotic ... at the bottom of the page, they also have a vitamin supplement ...

I agree about getting what you pay for, and these people seem to be really good from what I can see/hear. Was looking for a vitamin/mineral pack, not so much probiotics.

Their vitamin pack is pretty good, but doesn't have Niacin which I was hoping for. In addition to adding vitamins to my chickens, I want that pack to contain Niacin so that you can add it to any chick starter to make it safe for ducklings.

I've personally never had an issue as I fed my ducks the correct food. But way too many people over on the Duck thread are getting ducklings and feeding them a diet lacking niacin, which is causing all kinds of stress to the owners when their ducks go lame.

Nutritional yeast, or even brewers yeast can also be given I'm told (read) to supplement niacin deficiency ...

I'd also like to clarify my "you get what you pay for" statement ... what I should have said was that If you can find the same item for less, that is different than getting a simular item for less. (Simular may be cheaper for a reason)

When I read up a bit on the yeasts, the article was saying be sure to use the yeast with the most Niacin, as some of the others have so little that to feed enough of it to get the Niacin they need would be adversely affect their feed by diluting it. The author recommended going with an actual Niacin supplement especially if they are already having issues with lameness etc.

We make our own and only have have 30 birds. But we don’t do it for the pennies. Just quality control and no additives. It keeps long too. Since you control how much you make at a time. We make our own VetRx too.

That's cool Tasha, what recipe would you use for general purpose poultry vitamin / mineral pack that also has what is missing out of regular chick starter that ducklings need. I know Niacin is the most essential but beyond that I'm not sure.
