@sealer39 and @JenEgrrrL how big are the "sensor" units that I'll be putting into my incubator?
The little Govees are 1 1/2” square and about a 1/2” wide so one will take up one egg slot
This is one in a quail egg rack.

So you tested the food thermometer with the ice and boiling water,
then compared the zoo-med to the food thermometer?
Yeah, really only necessary to test one(food therm) in ice and boiling,ETA: I compared them directly for the ice water bath but not the boil test that I did with my food thermometer as I wasn't sure the probe could handle boiling water. Didn't make a difference. -.5 difference for both comparisons (ice and ambient temp).
Yeah, really only necessary to test one(food therm) in ice and boiling,
then compare that one to any others at ~100°F.
Food therms have a wide range and the good ones have a tight tolerance.
Most other therms have a much narrower range,
that really couldn't measure either ice or boil.
What kind of food therm do you have?Okay, got ya. I'll remember that for next time. I plan to repeat this test regularly just in case these things don't hold their accuracy over time.
What kind of food therm do you have?
Some you can actually adjust/calibrate...
...like this one;

That kind or that exact brand and model?I'll double check the brand in a while, but it's this kind of thermometer: https://www.thermoworks.com/ChefAlarm
That kind or that exact brand and model?
Will wait for that info. That kind. Not that exact brand and model.
Preparing to try hatching Calls for the first time. I've been pouring over Amazon for a week now comparing thermometer/hygrometer stats and reviews. It is an endless rabbit hole. Once I think I found a good one, I read a few reviews that say it's not accurate enough for an incubator...
What is the best thermometer/hygrometer in y'all's experience? I need the kind with a probe, as I have a tiny bator and a big unit isn't going to fit with 12 eggs.
Been test running it for a week now. I can't get the humidity up above 55% - and that's with having the vent completely closed and the well completely filled! I'm really hoping the incubator's reading is just wrong. At this point I'm afraid I'll need to try putting them into my fish tank for lock down.
