Best thing that's happened to you this year?

This year has been nowhere near as eventful as 2010, but there have still been some highlights. I can't believe it's almost over. It's been a year with a lot more sadness, but mistakes are either there to be learned from or to make you stronger!

So say, what have the highlights of your year been so far?

Oh...I was afraid the year would be over before I could think of anything. Then I remembered I got to camp one night,fish and kayak. It was the Fourth of July weekend.

It was heavenly. I guess it had been over 25 yrs. since I camped. I remember it getting cold but I was too happy to care.

I got CHICKENS!

Camp would probably have to be one of the highlights for me.... Others would be interstate holidays and the two weeks I had before yesterday.

The past two weeks have absolutely flown past. It seems like we'll be welcoming 2012 before too long, another Christmas concert for us choir peeps (always a highlight of the year), summer with the unchanging wind direction... and wasn't it only yesterday it was 2010? I was actually astounded to find out that the BP oil spill and the Iceland volcanic eruption happened in 2010.

I've actually not had a bad time for the time that's elapsed since my last post on this thread. I mean, topping two subjects in my year level, finding the BEST stock I have picked so far, rediscovering Dallas and friends and letting out skeletons in the closet doesn't make for a bad few months.

Oh, and receiving a BYC Friend award too. Thank you all again! I would never have expected this to happen to me!

Ironically...getting laid off from my job with a severance package. I used it to move to the country and get me some chickens. I am taking the time to get this place settled and de-stressed

It's amazing how much things can change in one year, isn't it?

Well, summer in Adelaide is always unchanging.
Endless days of dead plant material floating down the river, ants that cover every square inch of open space, continuous music and great movies and the unwavering use of Runway 23...
