I bought my little house and less than an acre earlier this year. That's the best thing, but it comes in sections, all fraught with angst and glory as they were resolved:
Found the house, made an offer in cash, it was accepted, in April.
Escrow closed end of May.
Found a wonderful contractor to make the garage into the coop. Plus handle other repairs. Plus he's a truly nice, unmarried man just a tad older than me. Kinda like him.
Didn't have to have a new well drilled.
I moved in.
Moved my flock up later that same month (July).
Prevailed in the Code Ordinance debacle and get to keep my chickens.
I have everything I want or wanted for Christmas.
