Ok, this may sound like a silly question, but we intend to collect some eggs to hatch to increase our flock. They are in their winter "mooch-a-thon" right now and I have no idea how long that will last (just started a week and half ago)...apparently, they didn't like the -20 wind chill weather! LOL
What I'm wondering is if it is best to wait a while after they begin laying again or does it not matter? I thought maybe those first eggs are not the best? (maybe they will start laying again next week and this will be a moot point...no desire for ducklings in february haha...but if they hold off til March or something...)
