Ending the life of anything is never easy, yet it is something we have to on occasion if we are going to raise chickens. I have found that by holding them with one hand and pulling on the head with the other will quickly and humanely dispatch them. I prefer to bury them in my garden. They will discomposs rather quickly and add nutrients to the soil. That way I don't feel that their short life was a tragic waste.
