Between Life and Death RP

~Taquickar leaned back farther against the tree, dreaming up how to describe oneself. "Well, I'm tall," he began slowly, hoping to use as clear and concise descriptions as possible for Melody. "And I have messy, blonde hair. My wings are large, and gray." He paused, realizing that Melody wouldn't even know what a color was. I'm just going to assume that hopefully someone explained colors to her at some point in her life.... "Oh, and I have blue eyes," he concluded, not feeling exactly satisfied with his depiction. I don't really know how to describe myself...~

Melody smiles cheerfully, she was happy to even get a description "Thank you, it's your turn to ask a question" she tells him, bracing herself for any question that might be thrown her way

~Taquickar pondered this for a moment, trying not to start out with an abashing or saddening query. "How long have you been using your staff to guide you? I think it's really cool how you can maneuver it and yourself as one."~

Melody placed her hand on the delicately carved staff "I've had it for many years, I'd say I started training with it when I was about six or seven and it's not used only for walking but for fighting as well" she states proudly as she slowly traced the carving on the staff. "I guess it's my turn to ask a question, hmm what kind of weapons do you use?" She asks because she figured since he knew what she used, she might as will know what he used

~Taquickar automatically reached down and unsheathed his sword from its wooden scabbard. "A falchion sword," he answered in a thoughtful echo, running his fingers along the top of the single-edged blade and dancing along its deadly smoothness. "I keep it in a wooden scabbard at my waist that I carved myself out of ash wood." He entrancedly traced the lighting patterns on the beloved swords' handle before returning it to his scabbard. "Have you ever fought a Fallen?"~

Melody tilts her head as she imagined the beautiful weapon Taquickar had described, with a nod of satisfaction at what she imagine she moved on to answer the question "I have fought five and I have obviously won them all as seeing I'm still alive" she states carefully before asking "How many Fallen have you fought?"

~Taquickar bit his lip. By asking her that question, he had acknowledge that the same would turn to him eventually. "Last time I counted, roughly twenty something complete stranger Fallens." He grinned sheepishly, again realizing too late that she couldn't see him. But facial expressions were so natural to him, and therefore would prove a habit futile to break. "I have this bad habit of jumping into everyone else's fights and attempting to rescue everyone." He swallowed quickly, and his voice abruptly took on a complete shroud of solemnity. "I've fought my sister a good fifty times or more- I don't like to keep count..."~

Melody looked at him in awe "You've fought a lot more than me" she mumbles before she rests her head on one of her hands "Well it's your turn to ask a question" she says a bit quickly, she wanted to change the topic away from his sister because she didn't want to pry into that since she had a brother who's Fallen

~Taquickar looked at his sandled feet, sensing her own discomfort. "What's your favorite pastime?" Could your questions GET any simpler?!?!~

"Listening" Melody replied after a moment of thought, she felt a bit embarrassed by her answer so she adds "I mean, if one can't see they take great pleasure in what they can hear" she sighs quietly at her own response before she asks "Well then what's your favorite pastime? It's probably more interesting than mine"

~"I like flying," Taquickar admitted with a laugh and tracing the swirling bark of the pine with an outstretched finger. "Typical of an angel, I know. But it's just so exhilarating to jet through the sky, to attempt to burst a cloud, even though you know in the back of your mind that it's futile." He flinched at his obtuseness as he realized the mortifying significance of his words. I'll bet Melody doesn't fly because she can't see....~
