Ok...I am going to share something I made recently that was really good, but different. I know you said that you don't want to make deviled eggs, but these are a variation that only look like deviled eggs. (Also, forewarning, I don't premeasure when I cook, so I am only gonna list the ingredients). (NO MAYO, so they're healthier too!!!)
Mustard Dill deviled eggs
1) starting with the typical deviled egg recipe...boil eggs, cut in half, mash egg yolks....etc.
2) Mix egg yolks with:
1/2 mustard (yellow mustard)
1/2 coarse ground mustard (with the mustard seeds still)
3) add in lots of dill weed. Salt/pepper to taste.
4) Pack into egg white halves and top with parika
They have a tangy taste to them and don't taste like the traditional mayo-packed deviled eggs (don't get me wrong, I love those too!!). I like them 'cause they have the familar look, but taste different and great for forkless BBQs!
(we've also made egg salad similar, but add in mustard for a twist on a egg salad sandwich!)
ETA: I was typing this post when you posted the duck deviled eggs. That sounds good!
