How exciting! What kinds?

From Tractor Supply I'm getting 2 Buff Orpingtons, 2 Easter Eggers, & 1 random bantam.

From Meyer Hatchery I'm getting:

1 Frizzled Cochin Bantam, Straight Run

1 Black Copper Maran Pullet

1 Welsummer

2 Black Sumatra Pullets

1 Black Sumatra Cockerel

2 Heritage Barred Rock Pullets

1 Heritage Barred Rock Cockerel.

These Ducklings are doing great. They are eating the dry crumble so I don't bother wetting it. They sure are adorable little babies.

Rub it in!!! . I saw khaki Campbell at TS for $.50!! I’m debating on getting 4? Hmmm. Just sold all mine and really don’t need the work. But what a deal! But I want Muscovy. I think I just answered my dilemma. No ducks. Not till Muscovy are cheap. Which is never!!!

They are cheap once you get your own. They reproduce well. I was debating getting a few regular ducks because I like the big fat white pekins. I decided just to let my muscovy hatch a few because I have some white ones now. I guess I just want white ducks.

I had 43 ducks!!! I know how they reproduce, etc. I just sold them all two weeks ago. Due to many reasons...fighting... the work... I have a much bigger farm now with more animals and they require much more time... some of the ducks broke my heart by hurting my favorite duck... Little Lou... my avatar. They broke his leg. He almost died. I had to tube feed him for a month... but once better he wasn’t happy. So we put him down the weekend I sold the rest. I guess I couldn’t forgive those guys for being mean to him before and after he got hurt

Ducks are definitely work when you have to contain them and too many Drakes is a recipe for disaster. Mine are not pets and just here as a hobby. I breed and sell mine each spring. I just hate dealing with them in the winter.

Ten different breeds. I liked Muscovy most because they made no noise for my husband
