Mine have been laying all winter although not as often. Forrest Hump also took a break from the hens too.
You need to get some birds like mine. They gave me 6-11 eggs all winter, & the roosters have been doing their jobs too. A couple days I got 13-14 eggs, a few months ago.

I don't need that many eggs. I used to have Orpington Hens. I prefer the Bantam birds though. They don't stress me out.

Her crooked toes look like they're caused by vitamin deficiency. I see this happen more commonly in cockerels, & roosters.
My Maran/GameFowl cross has a crooked toe on both feet, & my Project Orpington has it on one foot.
. Interesting... My first generation of game fowl I originally bought from the farmer all had crooked feet. The new chicks I hatched last year from the first generation birds are normal besides having 5 toes .:hmm. I wonder if the farmer fed them something he wasn't supposed to.

Five toes is a genetic mutation called polydactily, which Silkies, & Dorkings have.
