Bielefelder family reunion

I'm so excited about this breed. We process extra Cockrels so the auto sexing is perfect. This is how luck goes, I hatched 6 out of ten all girls that are 18 weeks now and so pretty. My skywalker hatch gave me another 6 of ten, 5 girls one boy...sadly the boy died. Then I tried one more time and it was a delayed shipment so I only got 3 of ten AND they were girls. So I have 14 pullets and no roo. I gave up and added a couple to my McMurray shipment at the end of the month. I love the breed so far and my eggs from skywalker were wonderfully packaged and hatched well.
By spring I should have my own flock of Biel's going and we are excited!!!
Omg. Give me that luck!!!

Ohmygosh... you and @chickiebaby1 have the complete opposite luck!

I agree, the eggs were very well packed. Please let us know when your girls start to lay. Many of us are now at the stage of longing for their first eggs.:D

Hi I started my Bielefelder journey back in April but just found this thread. My first group of girls I got from a local lady who's stock came from Omega Hills and Greenfire Farms. I bought 3 chicks the first time, all girls, but the neighbors dog decided to visit so now I have 2. They're 23 weeks old now and are called Harmony and Starla. My next batch I got 2 boys but a possum got one so we're down to "Biele Bob" he's 19 weeks old. Then my 2 youngest girls are 15 weeks old and their names are Rascal and Short Stack. All of these names are courtesy of my children who have divided the birds between them. We have 2 other girls a CCL and 55 Flower hen in with them.

Gorgeous birds!
There are some fall poultry photo contests about to start. Your lovely birds already have beautiful fall colors all on their own! *hint hint*

My plans include getting my NPIP and shipping some eggs next year. I'm in the process of building my "dream flocks" and I will keep everyone posted.

I ordered a dozen eggs from Omega Hills. They were having extreme heat and my order was delayed by a couple weeks, I started thinking this could be a bad deal and I tried to cancel but they hurried and shipped them. They were smaller eggs than before, I got 14. I'm in lockdown now with 6 but one doesn't look good so probably 5. I have a feeling they're all boys... :hit
