Bielefelder family reunion

I bought a set of 8 Bielefelder eggs off of ebay way back in March for the Easter HAL from guthrie_farm out of Alabama. I had 3 make it to lockdown and all 3 hatched. I ended up with 2 pullets and 1 cockerel. They were definitely go getters when they hatched and have really grown. They have been about the size of my BCM's that hatched at the same time....until now. Now they are starting to outgrow everyone. They are always the ones I find wading in the shallow water pans. They are beauties!

I also have skywalker2136 chicks....Svart Honas instead of Bieles though. I started with 7 eggs and had 3 make it to lockdown there to - Same outcome as well 2 pullets and 1 cockerel. They are absolute sweethearts!

My kids are almost a week old and I've noticed a little less of the odd screaming/peeping thing the last few days. But I've also noticed they are quite skittery. They will moving up to the big brooder later today or tomorrow where I will hopefully be able to interact with them more.
There will also be room for a pan of dirt, branches, and play things.

My Biele's were the first to hatch out. We had Cream Legbars, Marans, and the Biele's. 14 Biele's went into lock-down and 8 hatched. 5 boys, 3 girls. One of the boys passed away a few days ago but everyone else is doing great. He was a tiny little guy. Yesterday, I picked up some live chicks from Greenfire Farms to add to the hatchings. They included Isbars, Cream Legbars, Marans, and more Bielefelders. These will all grow out and become my foundation flock. Adorable babies! While I'm excited about all of these breeds, I have to confess that the Bielefelders are the breed I have wished for every since I got my first chicken two years ago! You can say that they are responsible for all my future chicken dreams! All of my hatchlings came from Omega Hills Farm. I wanted to get some from various sources to have genetic diversity so I got the live chicks from Greenfire as a backup plan in case my hatch was a total bust. I've got Skywalker2136 in my saved seller list and I may bid on some of his in the future but for now I'm starting with what I have. Glad to be here!
I hatched out 11 of 14 eggs from Skywalker2136. We had 6 pullets and 3 cockerels. I kept 3 pullets and one roo. They are 9 weeks old and are my favorites. I have 10 Cream Legbar eggs in lockdown right now.
