So I have a 14 month Bielfelder hen “Big Bertha” she was just hanging in the coop when I was cleaning acting like she was straining to poop but not like egg bound strained. She has always had a very large wiggly wobble crop and my other Bielfelder hen does too. I read that’s normal for the Breed. Anyways I assumed she could have a laying/egg issue and gave her a nice epsom soak (felt her underside and no egg) (also her belly is not squishy) she enjoyed it then put her in my shop room to monitor with calcium food and water. She was definitely drinking but not eating and not pooping. Then I realized her crop wasn’t emptying. So yesterday I did the crop massage got some nasty stinky fluid and some old food out . Gave her only water with electrolytes/vitamins and checked her this morning and noticed a lot of watery poop which made me happy to see something was getting through her system. But her crop wasn’t emptying still full of fluid so I repeated the massage upward and more feed and fluid drained out. I can not feel anything obvious in her crop . I let her out with her flock to get sunshine and she still pecks and scratches . Her color is good but her comb has flopped over and she has felt lighter. Anything I should be doing on top of massaging crop? She drinking plenty of water and I think she’s just weak. I put her in my shop room at night with no food or water to check on digestion the following morning. Below is the poop I found this morning in her room.
