This little one came from TSC, the assorted bantam bin. It has some serious feathering going on on its feet and legs, but has been slow to feather everywhere else. When it scratches, it looks like someone swept up! lol It's 4 weeks old.

We have no idea on breed and on gender, I'm leaning toward boy, but don't really know one way or the other. Any comments are appreciated! Thanks!

I have another chick that is a dark brahma and it looks very different than this one. Do they have a lot of variance in that breed?

This is the other one:

Compared to the little dark brahma we have, this little bird's feet have much more feathering and those feathers are much longer than the other bird's foot feathers. This little guy's feet look like he's wearing some sort of feather thigh-high boot. He is actually very tall for the size of his body and his neck is extremely long when he stands up straight. He reminds me of some sort of fictional animal from Star Wars. lol

I'm no expert on Brahmas, but that feathering pattern is VERY typical for Cochins. They're hilarious and do tend to put most of their feather growing into their feet.

I have a whole brooder full of them right now, and my golden laced Cochin's feet feathers are so big that I'm tempted to start running him over my wood floors to clean them!

It'll be interesting to see what he turns out to be!

That is a Partridge Cochin, not a Brahma.

I think you're right! I looked up pictures and she definitely seems to be looking like that! What about the other one?
