Oh for crying out loud, this is so stupid and embarrassing. My stupid video doesn't want to go through!! It's probably my low signal. Nothing I can do, I'm so sorry! I tried, believe me. I had the video, (it had to be super short or it wouldn't attach, stupid phone) attached it to casportponys email and hit send, but it refuses to go through. ARRGHH!!!
Hard to tell, I would give her a while to see if it improves. I would leave her be and not make her move too fast. See that she's eating/drinking well.
I’m glad she’s eating and drinking, that’s a good thing - lying down means she’s taking it easy - don’t write her off just yet, you’d be amazed what they can bounce back from; I certainly wouldn’t euthanize based on your video
I had to hold her so we could clean out the coop. I could feel her vibrate in my arms, her leg mostly. Her walk is getting worse. I'm hating that she has to be that way for another day and a half.
I wouldn’t jump to euthanize her just yet. I have a hen with a far worse limp. She was dropped by a young child and injured her leg (back in March I think?) it took time and a little re-hab but she gets around just fine now... still limps very heavily. I kept her closely confined in a dog crate for about a month, taking her out and assisting her in walking every day, she spent some time in a chicken sling made from an old towel. Initially she wouldn’t even put her foot down for about a week. No vet expense just time and effort on my part.
Point being she can probably recover just fine given enough time. My Hoppy is super active, happy and healthy despite her limp.
